ADHD is a brain disorder that causes adolescents to experience difficulties with attention, concentration, self- control and self-esteem. It affects about 10% of children, and boys are three times more likely than girls to be diagnosed with it. At first, the symptoms that kids with ADHD experience seem normal, but continue to worsen and occur more often with time. Symptoms that kids with ADHD experience include getting distracted easily, forgetting things often, fidgeting and squirming a lot, and struggling with directions.
Children with ADHD often fall short on skills needed in real life. Some skills include: time management, responsibility, accountability, and organization. Classroom activities and games focused on improving these skills can make all the difference in day to day actions and developing interpersonal skills.
