Defeating Depression

A large percentage of children and adolescents in the general population suffer from depression at some point in their lives. Children are more inclined to feel depressed if they are experiencing an immense amount of stress, have experienced loss, or have attentional, learning, conduct or anxiety disorders. One of the best ways to relieve a child of depression is to utilize positive reinforcement.

Depression can make classroom learning a little difficult. A great strategy to keep the students on task is by having them set a list of goals for themselves. That way, each time they complete one of their goals, they will not only feel a sense of accomplishment, but complete their required assignments.
